Who is responsible

What we collect and why

When you call, email or message us, we receive the details you choose to share, such as your name, phone number, email address and the contents of your message. For a visit we may also need your property address, appliance and flue details, access information and a record of the work, certificates, invoices and payments. We use these details to answer enquiries, arrange and carry out work, keep service records and deal with questions afterwards.

We use information needed to provide the service you request under our contract with you or to take steps before a contract. We may also keep appropriate records for our legitimate interests in running the business and responding to concerns, and for legal obligations such as accounting. We do not treat an enquiry or booking as consent to unrelated marketing.

Website and outside services

The website may process basic technical information, such as your internet address and browser details, to deliver pages and keep the site secure. It does not currently use advertising or analytics tracking. The private sign in area for site administration uses essential browser storage to keep authorised users signed in. If you contact us on WhatsApp, your messages are also handled by WhatsApp. If you follow our Instagram, Facebook or Guild links, those sites handle information under their own policies. The website also requests fonts from Google. Their services may receive technical information when you use them. We do not control their privacy practices.

Sharing and keeping information

We share information only where needed to provide the service, run the website or meet legal duties. This can include our website and data hosting providers, and professional advisers or authorities where required. If a cowl or roof issue needs a separate specialist, we can give you their details so you can seek your own quote. We do not sell your personal information.

We keep customer and work records for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, deal with questions and meet applicable legal or accounting requirements. We then delete or securely dispose of information when it is no longer needed. Some outside services may process data in other countries under their own arrangements.

Your choices and rights

Under UK data protection law, you may be able to ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer, or object to certain uses. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with how we handle your information.
