How often should I have my chimney swept?
For wood and multi fuel: at least once a year, twice if used daily through winter. Smokeless coal: at least once a year. Oil/gas: once a year.
How long does a domestic sweep take?
Most sweeps take 45 to 60 minutes including dust sheeting, sweeping, a smoke test and the certificate.
Is my insurance affected?
Yes. Most home insurance policies require an annual sweep certificate for solid fuel appliances. We issue one after every sweep.
